FAQs on Mizoram Holidays in 2027
Missionary Day on Monday, 11 January extends the weekend before it for three days off. Good Friday on Friday, 26 March and Diwali on Friday, 29 October both run straight into the weekend for three days off as well. Mizoram State Day falls on a Saturday and YMA Day on a Tuesday in 2027, so neither adds an extra day off beyond what's already on the calendar.
Yes. It falls on Saturday, 20 February 2027, a fixed date every year, and is observed as a full holiday across Mizoram to mark the day the state was formed in 1987.
The state administration typically issues it in November or December the year before, so Mizoram's official 2027 order is expected toward the end of 2026. Chapchar Kut is added to that notification once the state announces its 2027 date.
This page lists 20 notified holidays for Mizoram in 2027: 17 central gazetted holidays observed nationwide and 3 fixed-date days specific to the state. The state's full list typically adds Chapchar Kut once its movable date is confirmed.
Yes. Holidays notified for Mizoram apply across Aizawl, Lunglei, Champhai and Serchhip, unless a specific government notification states otherwise for a particular district or town.
