What Is a OKR for Quality Assurance?
Quality assurance, often just called the testing team, is the department responsible for testing and signing off on a product or service's quality before it goes out the door. A QA engineer's job covers writing and reviewing test code, hunting down bugs, managing reviews, judging overall product quality, and releasing the product on time with as few bugs and run-time errors as possible.
QA's role gets bigger the more products an organization has to ship, especially when both the delivery timeline and the quality bar have to be met together. OKRs for QA help the team get the most out of their effort and keep raising product quality with every round of regression testing. These OKRs work best kept short-term, so targets stay within reach. Our Quality Assurance OKR template comes with plenty of sample examples to help you build your own.
Quality Assurance OKR Examples
Every organization needs quality assurance to test its products properly. QA's goals should always point toward one outcome: a product that's completely free of bugs.
OKRs give testers a way to work toward complete product quality, not just catching bugs. A strong QA tester does more than hunt for defects: they run quality tests, prevent issues before they happen, suggest improvements, and stay in close contact with the engineering team.
