Workplace Bullying

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

Workplace bullying refers to repeated, unreasonable actions by an individual or a group, directed at an employee or a group of employees, meant to intimidate them and that put their health and safety at risk. It often involves an abuse or misuse of power, and it includes behavior that intimidates, degrades, offends, or humiliates a worker, frequently in front of others. This kind of behavior leaves the target feeling defenseless and undermines a person’s right to dignity at work.

Bullying at work can take many different forms: consistently unreasonable expectations from managers, destabilization, undermining someone’s integrity and confidence, false accusations, sabotage, and shunning are just a few examples.
