Workforce Management

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

Workforce Management (WFM) is a set of processes a company uses to maximize employee productivity. It involves forecasting, creating, and managing labor requirements, usually with the goal of getting a specific task done on a daily or hourly basis.

Done well, it leads to better performance from employees and, in turn, the organization as a whole. The process typically covers recruiting, budgeting, forecasting, data collection, field service management, performance and training, analytics, and scheduling.
