Void Check

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

A void check is a blank check with the word "VOID" written across its face, which makes it unusable for any payment transaction. Employers and financial institutions use void checks to verify bank account information without risking unauthorized transactions.

The check still shows all the necessary banking details, like the account number and routing number, but it cannot be used to actually move money.
