System Changeover

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

System changeover is the process of moving from an old or current system to a new one, which can involve changes to hardware, software, processes, or some combination of these. It is a key stage in system implementation, and there are a few common methods for doing it: direct cutover, an immediate switch to the new system; phased implementation, a gradual rollout of components; and parallel adoption, where both systems run at the same time for a while before the old one is retired.
