Superannuation

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

Superannuation is a retirement benefit that provides employees with income through mandatory employer contributions and voluntary personal deposits. It is a long-term savings system, with contributions invested across diversified portfolios by regulated funds until the member reaches what is known as preservation age.

Once that happens, the accumulated balance becomes accessible, whether as a regular retirement income stream, a lump sum withdrawal, or through a transition-to-retirement strategy.
