Sensitivity Training

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

Sensitivity training is an organizational development technique that uses counseling-style methods to build employee well-being, self-awareness of a person’s own biases, and sensitivity toward others. It typically brings together people of different genders, cultures, and abilities in an open environment where participants can discuss sensitive issues interactively.

Companies often use sensitivity training to address topics like unconscious bias, cultural differences, harassment, and inclusion, usually through workshops, group discussions, or role-playing exercises. The goal is to help employees recognize their own blind spots, communicate more respectfully across differences, and build a workplace where people feel safe raising concerns.
