Sabbatical Leave
Sabbaticals are extended absences from the workplace that let people pursue personal or professional goals. This is a benefit some organizations offer their employees, and it may or may not be paid. The trend started at universities, where paid time off is granted to faculty members to carry out research, writing, and other scholarly work.
Many companies have adopted similar policies so employees can rest, recharge, and return with renewed focus and energy.
