Rightsizing

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

Rightsizing is the strategic adjustment of an organization’s workforce, resources, or operations to align with its current goals, needs, and market conditions. Unlike downsizing, which usually means cutting the workforce to reduce costs, rightsizing is about optimizing the organization’s size and structure for efficiency and effectiveness.

This can include reorganizing teams, reallocating resources, or adapting to shifts in market demand, all aimed at keeping the right balance of personnel and resources.
