Provident Fund (PF)

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

A Provident Fund (PF) is a compulsory savings and retirement program that helps individuals build up savings for their future. In India, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) manages these funds.

Upon retirement, or under certain specific conditions, the accumulated savings and any interest earned are paid out to the employee. This gives them financial support during retirement or in times of need.
