Pay Parity

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

Pay parity means equal compensation for employees who perform the same job with similar qualifications, experience, and responsibilities. It ensures that workers receive identical pay rates regardless of gender, caste, religion, or other personal characteristics, as long as their roles and contributions are equivalent.

Organizations achieve pay parity by setting up transparent salary structures, running regular pay audits, and closing wage gaps that come from bias rather than legitimate job-related factors. Pay parity is focused on internal fairness within the same organization, comparing employees in identical or substantially similar positions.
