Onboarding

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

Employee onboarding is broadly defined as the process of familiarizing a new employee with the organization’s policies, their role within it, and its culture. It also involves creating an environment where the employee feels comfortable enough to interact freely with colleagues and build social relationships in the workplace.

More specifically, onboarding means getting the employee through the necessary paperwork for labor law compliance and equipping them with the tools they need to do their job well. During this process, employees learn what the organization expects of them in terms of skills, communication style, and attitude.
