Occupational Stress
Occupational stress refers to the psychological and physical effects of negative activity in the workplace, caused by factors like external events, internal events, job demands, and colleague behavior.
Stress differs from pressure, though the two are often used interchangeably. Pressure refers to surmountable demands in the workplace, and it only turns into stress when the emotional, mental, and physical demands of a situation outweigh an individual’s coping skills.
