Key Performance Indicator (KPI)

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

A Key Performance Indicator (KPI) is a measurable value that shows how effectively a company is achieving its key business objectives. Organizations use KPIs at multiple levels to track how well they are hitting their targets.

High-level KPIs tend to focus on the overall performance of the business, while low-level KPIs zero in on processes within specific departments like sales, marketing, HR, and support.
