Incentive Pay
Incentive pay is a bonus or other form of compensation employers give employees for going above and beyond their normal duties. It’s meant to encourage people to keep doing excellent work.
A cash bonus around the holidays is one common form of incentive pay, and commissions earned from making sales fall under it too. Employers also use casual incentives to reward strong performance, things like gifts or covering an employee’s lunch, rather than cash.
