Gross VS Net Income

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

Gross income is the total earnings an individual or business brings in before deducting expenses and taxes, essentially the overall revenue generated. Net income, on the other hand, is what is left after subtracting all expenses, taxes, and deductions from that gross figure, the actual profit or take-home pay.

Gross income shows the total revenue coming in, but net income gives a more accurate picture of actual financial health.
