Form 12B

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

Form 12B is an income tax form issued by the Income Tax Department of India. An employee who joins an organization partway through the year submits this form, as required under Rule 26A of the Income Tax Act.

Furnishing Form 12B is not compulsory, but organizations usually ask for it anyway, so they can get the employee’s income details from their previous employer for that year.
