Employee Database

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 1 min read

An employee database stores each employee’s personal details alongside company-related information like pay scale and hire date. It typically holds fields such as name, age, job title, salary, and length of service, so HR has a single place to look things up.

A good employee database is self-service, so employees can add and edit their own information instead of routing every change through HR.
