EEO-1 Reporting

Updated on: October 14, 2026 Sneha Gondhale 2 mins read

EEO-1 reporting is a federal requirement that covered employers submit annual demographic data about their workforce to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The report breaks down employee counts by race, ethnicity, gender, and job category, which gives government agencies the data they need to track equal employment practices across industries.

Private employers with 100 or more employees, and federal contractors with 50 or more employees, have to file this report every year. The EEOC uses the data to spot patterns of discrimination and check compliance with civil rights law in the workplace.
