Compensation analytics is the practice of checking whether employers are paying their employees a reasonable amount, and bringing some discipline to that process rather than leaving it to guesswork. HR professionals dig into employment data to understand the factors at play on both sides, what’s fair to the employee and what’s sustainable for the employer.
The main goal is making compensation decisions based on solid data rather than instinct, which usually means comparing salaries across region, industry, experience level, and job title.
