Assessments
Assessment in hiring refers to the tools and processes used to evaluate whether a candidate is a good fit for a role before a final decision is made. Assessments can be conducted in person or online, depending on the position and what’s being measured.
The practical purpose is filtering. When a role attracts a large number of applicants, pre-employment assessments help HR identify which candidates are worth taking further without having to interview everyone. The result is a smaller, more qualified pool and a faster path to a hiring decision.
Once assessments are completed, HR reviews the results alongside other information about the candidate, interview performance, experience, references, and makes a decision based on the full picture.
