The Jammu & Kashmir administration notified the Draft Social Security Rules, 2021 in the gazette on 15 January 2021.
Applicability
Once in force, the Draft Rules will apply across the territorial jurisdiction of Jammu and Kashmir, effective from the date following their final publication in the Official Gazette, coinciding with the commencement of the Code on Social Security, 2020. They will repeal five existing regulations:
- Jammu and Kashmir Workmen’s Compensation Rules, 1972
- Jammu and Kashmir Payment of Gratuity Rules, 1973
- Jammu and Kashmir Maternity Benefit Rules, 1974
- Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2006
- Jammu and Kashmir Unorganised Workers’ Social Security Rules, 2010
