The Draft Rules were notified in the Gujarat gazette on 25 May 2021.
Applicability
Once in force, the Draft Rules will:
- Extend to the whole state of Gujarat
- Apply to all factories, establishments, and building or other construction work relating to any establishment for which the State Government is the appropriate Government under the Code
- Come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette
Rules to Be Repealed
On coming into force, the Draft Rules will repeal:
- The Gujarat Factories Rules, 1963
- The Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Services) Rules, 2003
- The Gujarat Motor Transport Workers Rules, 1965
- The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Gujarat) Rules, 1972
- The Beedi and Cigar Workers (Service Conditions) (Gujarat) Rules, 1972
- The Gujarat Motor Transport Workers Rules, 1963
- The Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) (Gujarat) Rules, 1981
