Draft of Occupational, Safety, Health & Working Conditions Code (Manipur) Rules, 2021

The Draft Rules were notified in the Manipur gazette on 19 November 2021.

Applicability

The Draft Rules extend to the whole state of Manipur and will come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.

Rules to Be Repealed

On coming into force, the Draft Rules will repeal:

  • The Manipur Factories Rules
  • The Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules

Adaptation of the Central Rules

Manipur has adopted the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code (Central) Rules, 2020, excluding Rule 1 and Rules 80 to 166, which relate to mines.

For anything to be prescribed by the State Government under the Code, and for matters under Section 133 of the Code not covered by Rules 3 and 4 of these Rules, references in the Central Rules are read as follows:
