The Uttar Pradesh government notified the Draft Social Security Rules, 2021 in the gazette on 3 March 2021.
Applicability
Once in force, the Draft Rules will apply across the whole of Uttar Pradesh, effective from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. They will repeal six existing regulations:
- Uttar Pradesh Workmen’s Compensation Rules, 1975
- Uttar Pradesh Workmen’s Compensation (Occupational Diseases) Rules, 1964
- Uttar Pradesh Maternity Benefit Rules, 1983
- Uttar Pradesh Payment of Gratuity Rules, 1975
- Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2009
- Uttar Pradesh Unorganized Workers Social Security Rules, 2016
