The Bihar government notified the Draft Social Security Rules, 2021 in the gazette on 26 February 2021.
Applicability
Once in force, the Draft Rules will apply across the whole of Bihar, effective from the date the Code on Social Security, 2020 itself comes into effect. They will repeal four existing regulations:
- Bihar Maternity Benefit Rules, 1964
- Bihar Payment of Gratuity Rules, 1972
- Bihar Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2005
- Bihar Unorganized Workers Social Security Rules, 2015
