An Act to regulate the employment of women in certain establishments for a certain period before and after childbirth, and to provide maternity benefit and certain other benefits.
Applicability
- Extends to the whole of India.
- Applies to mines, factories, plantations, shops, and commercial establishments.
- Covers any woman employed for wages in an establishment, whether directly or through an agency.
