Applicability
- Applies to any establishment or employer employing one or more persons
- Covers all employees drawing wages above ₹1,600 per month, except those in a managerial, administrative, or supervisory capacity
Enactment
The Act was passed by the Legislative Assembly of Goa, Daman and Diu in the thirty-seventh year of the Republic of India, under the short title “Short title, extent and commencement”:
- It may be called the Goa, Daman and Diu Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1986.
- It extends to the whole of the Union Territory of Goa, Daman and Diu.
- It comes into force on the date the Government appoints by notification in the Official Gazette.
