Applicability

  • Applies to any establishment or employer employing one or more persons
  • Covers all employees drawing wages above ₹1,600 per month, except those in a managerial, administrative, or supervisory capacity

Enactment

The Act was passed by the Legislative Assembly of Goa, Daman and Diu in the thirty-seventh year of the Republic of India, under the short title “Short title, extent and commencement”:

  1. It may be called the Goa, Daman and Diu Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1986.
  2. It extends to the whole of the Union Territory of Goa, Daman and Diu.
  3. It comes into force on the date the Government appoints by notification in the Official Gazette.
